Common Building Blocks -
(Interchangeable parts between brands) |
 |
 |
|
A lack of
industry-standard common building blocks for notebooks, limited
availability of notebook barebones, and service and support challenges
have been preventing Intel® resellers from taking greater advantage of
growth opportunities in the Build-To-Order (BTO) notebook segment. Intel
aims to change this with the Verified By Intel® program1.

Verified by
Intel® Program |
The Verified by
Intel program is an Intel-led initiative with three notebook ODMs to
improve the ecosystem for mobile products and bring to market notebook
barebones that better meet the needs of resellers, systems integrators
and other notebook OEMs.
Suppliers Quanta*, Asus* and Compal* will
begin manufacturing notebook barebones that have been verified by Intel
for
interchangeability across seven components:
hard drives,
optical drive, keyboard,
battery,
LCD screen, customizable notebook panels and AC adapters. You will
be able to purchase these barebones through select Intel® Authorized
Distributors, and integrate them with Intel and third party products.
